[ The memory of the room inside the painting they'd ended up in just a handful of months ago runs through Nami's mind after Basch mentions growing up in a desert, and she finds herself smiling softly, inwardly delighting in having this context in the first place.
Somewhere along the line, being selfish for Basch began to feel normal. Having a stash of cash will always make Nami feel more ready for whatever life throws at her, but after meeting her crew, after being stuck in this casino, she's learned that people can give her that sense of stability too, once she decides it's alright to let them in. ]
Inadequate? [ Nami laughs, quietly incredulous as her hand slides across the space between them to rest on his thigh, squeezing lightly. ] No. I just want times like these to keep happening.
[ He stares, a little dumbstruck, as she slides her hand over his thigh and insists on more of him. It's not that he's surprised she wants either, only that she's so open about it. Though maybe that's unfair; she has been for awhile. He's just still adjusting to being so openly wanted, especially by someone he was happy to give the space they needed, like a cat who had to approach you.
Now he smiles, laying his hand over hers and letting his fingers fill the spaces in her. ]
That is a promise I can make to you, because I want the same.
[ With them settled, her warmth a balm against the cold air, the sleigh starts to move, following some pre-mapped trail no doubt. Still, it's nice, fresh air and the smell of snow, glinting winter sun. He tilts his head against her hair, the scent of her sharp against the crisp air.
Then he eyes a chest in the footboard, a note with the hotel logo affixed to it. ]
[ Reluctant to move now that they've managed to get comfortably cozy on the sled's bench, Nami leans forward and stretches her free hand out, snatching the note off the chest before settling against Basch again. The touch on his thigh travels up as she settles, giving his hip a passing, affectionate squeeze before her arm wraps around his lower back.
She passes the piece of paper to him, letting Basch do the reading, as she extends her leg and hooks the handle on the side of her chest with the toe of her still snowy boot, dragging it closer with a triumphant smirk. It's easier than moving away from him again, something that strikes her as very unappealing at the moment. ]
Hope it's a wet bar. [ Knowing the casino, it's probably anything but, but a girl can dream. ]
[ It's...oddly attractive to have her so snuggled against him, and coordinated enough to open the box with her foot so that she doesn't have to move. Catlike.
His brow furrows as the lid opens though. ] Well, I suppose we should have expected that.
[ A spread of toys. And he knows they aren't going to be let off this sled without completing whatever nonsense the House expects, so, for once, he'll offer a solution instead of just waiting for what the other person is alright with. Nami makes him bold like that. ]
Why don't...why don't you pick something to use on me, and then you can sit in my lap. I can use one too, or I can keep to my hands. Whatever you'll enjoy best.
