[ Listen, if she's getting turned on because of Nami? She is most definitely going to know. They've fooled around so many times now that it's... normal? Casual? Yeah. ]
Sure. [ She imagines Nami's the better swimmer between the two, but Weiss can hold her own! Although- ] Do we need some gear or something? I'm not sure I can hold my breath for long.
[ So keen to enjoy the water while it lasts that the idea of gear completely escaped her, Nami's surprised at her momentary lapse in foresight, and left nodding swiftly at Weiss. ]
We'll probably find what you need by the boat rentals. [ The more she thinks about it, the more she'd feel better picking up something, too. Not knowing how deep those caves go and swimming into them would be foolish. ]
Race you back to shore.
[ And that's all the warning Weiss gets before Nami takes off, swimming effortlessly away from the floating bar and back to the beach. ]
[ That was fast! Nami just disappeared like that and Weiss can't even be upset. She lets out a huff and shakes her head before she jumps into the water, summoning a Glyph every now and then to help her move a bit faster, swimming past it like a ring to be collected.
For once, she isn't going to be upset if she loses this race. Nami is more than welcome to be the winner this time around. After all, the sea is practically her territory! ]
[ Once Nami makes it to shore, she surfaces without gasping for air – and that's all wrong.
By the time Weiss reaches her, where she's lingering in waist-high water, she's wearing a thoughtful frown. She's drawn low, her chin hovering over the surface of the water as droplets of it cling to her face and drip from her hair, suggesting she's just come up from hovering underwater. ]
Hey Weiss… Did you notice something weird while you were swimming?
[ After she asks Nami's face sinks beneath the water, just up to the bridge of her nose, the rest of her face still exposed to the air, eyes open and fixed on her friend as she waits for an answer and confirms for the tenth time since reaching the shore that – holding her breath doesn't seem to be an issue right now. ]
[ Weiss' hair is flat against her by the time she surfaces out of the water. It's not the best look, but at least it'll dry eventually later? ]
Something weird? I'm not sure what you mean.
[ She was concentrating on where to go, really. Nami brings her head back down though, and then pops up again. Weiss definitely didn't notice that at all. She was holding her breath!! ]
No not drugged, but– [ The corners of her eyes crease with apprehension, shooting Weiss a quick, confused glance before she slips under the water, eyes open, lips parted, not bothering to hold her breath, and, shockingly, not at all impeded by that.
It only takes a handful of seconds for her to test the waters (ha) and resurface, pushing her hair back as she shakes her head. ]
Weiss, I think this water is, magic, or, something is. I don't need to hold my breath down there. [ Which is exciting and downright weird, but Nami seems more intrigued than dismayed as she slips closer to the water again and pauses, holding a hand out to Weiss. ]
Come try it? [ They're in water shallow enough to stand in, if she's wrong the worst that will happen is Weiss coughs and gets mad, if she's right, however... ]
[ While it sounds unbelievable, she has enough trust in Nami that if this doesn't end up being a shared gift, then she won't get too mad! Before heading back under the water, she takes Nami's hand as she inhales. Holding her breath, she dives right back in, not really trying to breathe underwater for the next three seconds.
Slowly, slowly... exhale.
And it's like she's breathing air! Or something like that. Not quite air, but it feels fine? Weiss is unsure if they can talk underwater though, so she just shrugs her shoulders as she looks at Nami.
[ This has got to be among the more surreal things that's happened to Nami so far. Despite all the horny, freaky happenings going on in the casino, somehow it's being able to breathe water, and watching as Weiss is clearly able to do the same, that scores the highest marks when it comes to strange.
Watching her friend's amazed expression, Nami gives her a tentative thumbs up, also unsure if she ought to try speaking. Instead, she gestures towards the deeper water, holding out a hand for Weiss to take, keen to take advantage of this and go for a longer swim with her. ]
[ Weiss has never been much of a swimmer. Atlas is cold, after all, and there aren't any beaches. Still, she at least knows enough to be able to swim and dive. Even if they go deeper, she can probably take care of herself enough that she won't drown. Not to mention, if she can breathe underwater, then it might be more of a challenge in drowning.
Besides! Nami is with her. Taking the other girl's hand, she nods and moves her legs, swimming deeper and making sure she's following Nami along. Every now and then, she may push herself with a Glyph, just enough to be able to catch up. ]
[ Even without the knowledge of Atlas' climate, Nami already knows Weiss isn't the seafaring type, and that's all the reason she needs to swim close to her friend, masking her protectiveness with flirtation.
It helps that every time Weiss uses her powers, and Nami catches sight of one of her Glyphs, she's practically fawning over herself with how impressed she is.
Swimming further away from the beach before daring to go deeper, the entrance of an underwater cave catches Nami's eye, and she gestures to Weiss questioningly. It's not often that Nami's willing to be adventurous, but being able to breathe water like this, and being with someone she trusts seems to have that effect on her. ]
[ All Weiss can think about is if Nami does this often back home. Just exploring thing underwater and all! She can't say it isn't fun though, the view underwater is beautiful. The water is clear, there are colourful fishes, plants, and corals, and it's all so fascinating.
When it looks like they've found an underwater cave, Weiss can really only peek in at first to see what's beyond. Would they be able to see what's in store for them if they went in and gone deeper? What if there's trouble inside?
She isn't sure if Nami can defend herself if there is... so Weiss points to herself first, then points at the cave entrance. Then she points to Nami, then points to the sand in an attempt to tell her to just stay here a while. She'll go on ahead to see if they won't meet any crazy octopus monsters inside and come back for Nami once it's clear.
Hopefully it's a good plan? She tilts her head inquisitively, waiting for her friend's decision. ]
[ The unexpected benefit of a life of crime on the high seas means that Nami's quick to catch the drift of Weiss' signals, having needed to communicate silently many times over the course of various hustles and cons.
Her eyes widen, flashing concerned as she glances between the cave and Weiss a few times, wincing as she slowly gives her a final nod. Weiss has magic, and Nami doesn't even have a staff down here – not that she's a strong enough fighter to be able to handle combat underwater even if she was armed.
Doing what she can to mime that she fully intends to follow after Weiss at a distance, she waits for her friend to vanish into the cave before slowly, carefully, doing just that. ]
[ Weiss is grateful for the trust! When Nami finally nods, she gives the other girl a thumbs up before a nod of her own. It isn't long until she takes off, going on ahead, pushing herself forward with Glyphs and using them to keep steady at the same time.
The entrance to the cave is pretty straightforward but not narrow. Fortunately? Whether it's the House's own magic or whatever, there's a bit of light on the seafloor and around her that she can still navigate her way forward. Eventually, the cave leads to a dead end if one was just looking ahead. As it turns out, there's path upwards! Up and up, until her head pops out of the water.
Any further, and it feels like she shouldn't be going on her own. It seems safe. There's land some feet away, it looks like.
Back down she goes, swimming down the same path she went going up, and then all the way back to where she left Nami. She has a big feeling Nami would still be there, but she also hopes that her friend wasn't scared left alone. When she pops back out, she doesn't do so completely, but instead waves a hand to tell Nami to come follow her already. ]
[ Though she swims laps at the gym several mornings a week, lingering under the water like this, in a place that's meant to resemble the ocean much like her own stretch of water upstairs, without the need to surface and get some air, is fascinating and exciting. The urge to look at everything is strong, but to her credit Nami doesn't wander off, going so far as to swim further into the passage Weiss vanished down so that the two women run into each other a little sooner than expected when her friend finally returns to fetch her.
Flashing her a thumbs up in response to that wave, Nami's quick to fall in beside Weiss, letting her lead them up towards where they can surface inside what looks to be a cave, or a grotto. Whatever it could be classed as once her head is above water, Nami takes the space in with a growing smile on her face. ]
Not a bad hideout.
[ Nami turns around to face Weiss as she swims back in the water, reaching the edge of the cavern's embankment before pushing herself up to sit, raising her eyebrows at her friend as she leans forward and reaches for her. ]
[ It really isn't a bad hideout! And now, it's just the two of them who know of this place, so no one will find them here. They can stay for as long as they like, talk about whatever they like, do whatever they like.
She follows suit in swimming to the edge and pushing herself up and out of the water. She sits there for a moment, letting her feet rest in the water as she catches her breath. Her hair is dripping wet and far heavier than normal, but her attention is on Nami when she calls out to her. ]
What - already?
[ She's laughing. They're going to be kissing already when they've only just arrived? Not that Weiss is actually, truly, objecting. Carefully, she moves her butt over so that her hips bump against the other girl's, already leaning to face Nami so that their lips can meet, and not just for a chaste kiss. ]
Already? [ She repeats incredulously as she reaches for Weiss. ] More like always. [ Nami concludes, her hands settling on Weiss' shoulders before traveling down the length of her arms.
The tips of her fingers skirt up the soft skin of her wrists before Nami laces her fingers with hers, squeezing gently as Weiss leans in to kiss her.
It's no exaggeration. She does always want to kiss Weiss, they're friends, better friends than she is with a lot of people who aren't on her crew, and after enough months together, Nami's grown very used to being more overt about the affection she harbors for Weiss than she is for most people. ]
[ They're wet, having just come out of the water, but that's no deterrent to the kisses that Nami can give. If she's saying that she wants to kiss Weiss always, then how can Weiss ever refuse Nami now? She's one good kisser, and Weiss has always enjoyed the time they spend together, whether it's making out or having sex or just talking.
Weiss never would have imagined to have friends with benefits, but after meeting Kazuya and Nami (Ragna's a different story), she certainly won't take it back. ]
Salty.
[ Just a little comment about Nami's lips after she gives her lower lip a good suck. Her tongue licks her own for that brief moment when she draws away to breathe, but she laughs afterwards. There's nothing wrong with the taste by any means. Weiss would have tried to push Nami away if there was. ]
I think next time when we're indoors, we should try eating some cake or something before we kiss.
[ For that sweet taste next time around! But Weiss leans back in for another kiss after that. ]
[ Seeming to relax all the more in the wake of that kiss, Nami's eyes are soft as they follow Weiss when she breaks away and leans back, reaching up to give her shaggy head of orange hair a ruffle in an effort not to look like a drowned rat while in the presence of a beautiful woman – sure they're close, but Weiss is classy, Nami isn't about to get complacent and take their mutual attraction for granted.
Just as importantly – she likes to look cute. ]
What about spice? If I kiss you after eating something hot enough that my lips start tingling, do you think you'd feel it?
[ Nami forgets about wanting an answer once Weiss draws close to kiss her again, the tips of her damp fingers lifting to trace over the other woman's jaw as she sighs in contentment. ]
I like the salt.
[ A point that gets proven when her mouth seeks out Weiss' once more. ]
